I have been building a public-interest dashboard (so unofficial) for the 2026 Venezuela earthquake context, using public Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping data for activation EMSR884.
The official Copernicus platform remains the authoritative source. My aim here is narrower: to create a lightweight accessibility layer for selected public satellite-derived data.
This is not an official emergency response, rescue, or evacuation tool. It may be useful for public situational awareness, for seeing which Copernicus AOIs and layers are available, and for viewing satellite-derived damage and not-analysed areas in a clearer map context. My hope is to make public information a little easier to access and interpret, while recognising that satellite-derived damage classes may require field verification.

The dashboard currently includes:
• dynamic AOI selection from the live EMSR884 manifest
• support for Caracas / AOI02 and Morón / AOI06 where public grading layers are available
• placeholders for AOIs that are still planned, in progress, or awaiting public layers
• multilingual interface in Spanish, English, Italian, and Chinese
• satellite and street basemap options
• map-based layer legend and toggles
• separated road/rail categories where Copernicus attributes allow it
• AOI boundary, built-up grading, transportation, and not-analysed layers
• data freshness information, including Copernicus delivery time, acquisition time, and last checked time
If you work in humanitarian mapping, geospatial analysis, crisis communication, public-interest technology, or Venezuelan or local contexts, I would be grateful for feedback. Please leave a comment or open a GitHub issue if you notice errors, usability problems, or feature requests.
