Bio
YIN Renlong | 尹仁龙 is an Oxford Clarendon Scholar working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, computational theology, and digital humanities.
His research examines how AI systems represent theological meaning, how AI-mediated communication reshapes learning, interpretation, and judgment, and how theological concepts can contribute to the evaluation and design of computational systems.
His current projects include Vector-Space Theological Meaning, which uses embeddings and semantic geometry to investigate how religious concepts are represented across theological and non-theological contexts. He is also developing evaluation frameworks, datasets, and benchmarks for theological reasoning and AI-mediated theological education.
More broadly, his work explores a bidirectional relationship between theology and computation: computational methods can reveal patterns in theological language, while theology can offer distinctions, boundary cases, and evaluative categories that are often missing from conventional AI research.
His academic background spans missiology, Church history, and Digital Humanities, and he is an incoming MSt student in Theology at the University of Oxford. Alongside his research, he develops websites and digital tools and works in photography and endurance cycling.
